Steven L. "Steve" Kirchoff

November 24, 1956 - December 4, 2021

Steven L. “Steve” Kirchoff, 65, Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born November 24, 1956 in Evansville to the late William B. and Wanda (Goodwin) Kirchoff. Steve graduated from Reitz High School in 1974 and retired from Alcoa after working in the Pot Room for 33 years. He was a referee for ISHAA football, basketball and baseball and also coached youth baseball for over 20 years. Steve was looking forward to watching his grandchildren play high school sports. He was an avid I.U. basketball fan. Steve was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived for watching his grandchildren play their sports. Steve is survived by his wife of 11 years, Pam (Schnabel) Kirchoff; sons, Michael (Ashlee) Kirchoff and Joseph Kirchoff (Carol Seiler); grandchildren, Cooper Kirchoff, Kyler Kirchoff, Kaylee Kirchoff, Shane Kirchoff, and Taylor Kirchoff; sisters, Deb Wathen and Becky Corso; step-daughter, Jessica (Bruce) Simon; step-grandchildren, Karen Slown, Katie Riley, Nic Newton, Jacob, Brooklynn, and Bryce Simon; great grandchildren, Eli, Colton, and Julia; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville with Reverend Bessie Adams officiating. Visitation will continue after the Celebration of Life until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central High School Athletic Department, 5400 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710. The family would like to thank the Deaconess Gateway Staff with Pulmonary Rehabilitation for their kind and compassionate care of Steve.
