Marlene (Porter) Fowler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marlene (Porter) Fowler, age 90, passed away July 23, 2022 at her home at the Village at Holiday Healthcare. She was born August 6, 1931 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Marlene was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1948, and attended Lockyear’s Business College. She and her husband, Robert, were charter members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and were active there for 50 years. For the past 16 years, she has been a member of St. Boniface Parish. Marlene was employed at Hoosier Cardinal, Mead Johnson and Co., Hardees Restaurant, and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 17 years of service. Working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching St. Louis Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts ballgames on TV, playing bingo with her friends at Leisure Living Apartments and then at the Village, and watching and feeding her hummingbirds were her favorite pastimes. But most of all, she treasured her times spent with her three precious grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Stephen D. Fowler (Marci); daughters, Margaret A. Wolf (Robert) and Joan M. Schuler (Mark), all of Evansville; grandchildren, Bryant M. Payne, Heather N. Wolf, and Taylor A. Schuler; sister-in-law, Frances Jean Rosentretter; nieces and nephews; 3 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, C.T. Porter; her mother, Thelma Porter Cook; her stepfather, William S. Cook; and in 2013, her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert S. Fowler. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Ave., Evansville, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the church with Father Chris Droste officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery In lieu of flowers or any other gifts, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Parish, 1626 Glendale Ave., Evansville, IN 70364, or Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N.
