December 17, 1955 - February 4, 2021
Malinda Jane (Tislow) Alexander, 65, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown. Malinda was born on December 17, 1955 to the late Joseph E. and Mazo I. (Alley) Tislow. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1973 and enjoyed many happy years in Pike County before moving to Evansville. Malinda and Billy J. Alexander Jr. were married in 1993 and were very much in love. Malinda and Bill enjoyed over 30 years together residing and working in Evansville. She worked at various sales jobs and her last place of employment was at Spa City U.S.A. Malinda loved working with the public and her customers became lifelong friends. Malinda’s battle with her health started seven years ago with a heart condition, and more recently developed breast cancer. Despite Malinda's challenging health issues, she made "lemonade out of lemons" as she called it. She was of the Catholic faith and her trust in Jesus Christ strengthened her resolve. Malinda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bill; her brother, Thomas (Tommy) J. Tislow of Cerritos, CA, whom she absolutely adored and looked up to; her fur babies, Maui, Ozzie, Ziggy, Zoie, Missy, Toby; her sister-in-law Ginger (Alexander) Mills and husband, Kenny and a host of wonderful close friends and caring cousins. Malinda was extremely grateful for all the professional staff at Ascension St. Vincent, Deaconess Health, Davita Staff, and Pine Haven Rehabilitation (River Bend now) for which she was a resident for 2 1/2 years, SWIRCA, and also, Her Most Favorite Doctor In the World, Dr. Richard Sloan, her Nephrologist at Deaconess & Davita. As we say our goodbyes through prayer we can embed memories of Malinda in our hearts. Rest in glorious peace, dear Malinda. No services per Malinda's wishes and burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Ziemer Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674, National Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 678572, Dallas, TX 75267-8572 or your favorite charity.
