Jackie "Jack" Leon Madden Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In 1937 America was pulling itself out of “The Great Depression.” FDR was in the White House and the New York Yankees won the World Series. However, nothing that happened that year would have as big an impact on the world, or at least the history of Gibson County, than the birth of Jackie Leon Madden on September 7th of that year. He was the third child of Arthur and Corriene Madden of Princeton. Jack’s sisters, Joyce and Sherrlyn, were ready to be big influences on him, but instead he quickly picked up on the manly essentials of life, chewin’, cussin, and fartin’, all by himself. These simple, yet forthright skills, helped to shape Jack’s character, and let’s face it, made him a damn funny man. Jack worked at Alcoa 40+ years, and Lasher Construction. He is survived by his better half Mary Louise (Van Meter) Madden of 61 years. Bill Pauley (brother-in-law), Lois Van Meter and Judy Van Meter (sisters-in-law). Kurt Madden (son), Lisa Madden Andis (Dodge), and Lori Madden Falk (John) (daughters) and his grandchildren Drew (Marlee), Daly (Jake), Jared, Anna, and Henry and one great-grandson Arlo. Not to mention countless family and friends. RIP MAYOR OF NEWBURGH ROAD Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
