Harold "Butch" Preston Byer, II Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harold "Butch" Preston Byer, II, 68, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his home. He was born April 4, 1952 in Evansville, to the late Harold P. and Lucy L. (Dean) Byer. He was an HVAC Technician for over 35 years and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 20. He was an avid outdoor sportsman. Nothing made him happier than passing along his knowledge to his son and grandsons. He also enjoyed playing the guitar. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 36 years, Kathy (Walker) Byer. He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Rust, Shelly (Barry) Spurling, Stephanie (Tim) Vaughn; sons, Walker Byer and Harold P. (Angela) Byer, III, who served as his primary caregiver; sisters, Patty (Leroy) Turpen, Debbie (Brett) Mandel, Ginger (Greg) Droste; sisters-in-law, Susan Walker, Debbie Christmas, and Wendy (Heath) Neal; and grandchildren, Payton, Andrew, Audrey, Ethan, Matthew, Morgan, Celia, Reese, Haley, Ramsey and Gavin. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2020, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jeff Edmondson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
