Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Beuligmann

January 8, 1932 - January 10, 2022

Elizabeth (Betty) Beuligmann, 90, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away at her home at All Saints Assisted Living on Monday, January 10, 2022. Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis Nix, James Nix, Tom Nix, Gene Nix, Lucille Zimmer, Irma Hirsch and Carolyn Lowe, two wonderful sons, Jeffry and David, and her husband of 66 years, Eugene. She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Terry) Hart of Middleton, Wisconsin, Ron Wolz of Louisville, Kentucky and countless beloved nieces and nephews. Betty was born in Poseyville, Indiana, on January 8, 1932, the youngest of eight children, and married Gene, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on February 6, 1952. While they raised a family, Gene and Betty farmed land in southern Indiana and Illinois for more than 20 years. When the children were grown, Gene left farming to work for Snap-on Tools in Mt, Carmel while Betty worked for the Wabash County clerk’s office and sold real estate. Upon retirement, they relocated to Evansville, Indiana, where they were active members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. After Gene’s death in 2018, she moved to All Saints Assisted Living in Madison to be near her daughter, Debra. Betty loved to cook, and was never frazzled when she forgot to add key ingredients to recipes or over/undercooked dinner. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, flower arranging, and playing bridge with friends. As the years passed, she enjoyed watching Badger basketball, cooking shows and anything that involved home remodeling or decorating. She was a classy lady who loved bright colored clothing and always wore an attractive scarf around her neck. Betty chose to be cremated; her ashes will be buried at St. Francis Cemetery in Poseyville, Indiana alongside her husband, Gene and her son, David. A graveside service celebrating her life will be planned for March. Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel is assisting with preparations and arrangements.
