Donald E. Gray Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald E. Gray, 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Cannelton, Indiana. He was born January 14, 1935 in Eddyville, Kentucky to the late Susie (Nickel) and Byron Gray. Donald retired from Sigeco-Vectren. In his early years, he enjoyed racing motorcycles. Donald was a ham radio operator and during the Vietnam War he helped relay messages from soldiers to their families. Recently, he enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard and flower garden. Donald married Mary Ann Lewis on December 23, 1954 and they shared 62 beautiful years together before she passed in 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great and great-great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Alan) Yancey and Tamara Gray; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brother, Jerry Gray. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Gray; sons, Delmos “Fuzz” Gray and Doyle Gray. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Tim Garrett officiating. Entombment will be at Fairmont Cemetery Mausoleum in Henderson, Kentucky.
