Darrell Gene Hobgood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Darrell Gene Hobgood, 83, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Hamilton Pointe. He was born January 10, 1939 to the late Wallace and Anna Katherine (Brantley) Hobgood. Darrell graduated from North High School and served in the Army Reserves. He worked with his father and brothers at Hobgood Contractors and Tristate Homes and Garages. Darrell became owner of Hobgood Contractors, which he operated with his children. He raised and showed Quarter Horses and was a member of the Quarter Horse Association. Darrell was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of both Lessing and Reed Lodge. He was a member of the Hadi Shrine Temple and a former member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis (Kronemeyer) Hobgood; sons, Tim (Lisa) Hobgood and Dan (fiancé, Stephanie) Hobgood; daughter, Becky (Steve) Muensterman; grandchildren, Erin (fiancé, Chris) Hobgood, Andrea (Hans) Schur, Kevin (Andrea) Hobgood, Jennifer (Kyle) Wolfe, Laura Muensterman, Ashley (Justin) Hicks, Jeremy (Kristen) Muensterman, Ryan (Hannah) Hobgood and Adam (partner, Tanya) Hobgood; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Sherry Fambrough; brother, Billy (Karen) Hobgood; sister-in-law, Nancy Hobgood; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Roger Hobgood. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville. Masonic service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Van Hoose officiating.
