Betty Jane (Lewis) Lovelace, 70, of Evansville, Indiana passed away May 28, 2021 at Hamilton Pointe Senior Living. Betty was born July 30, 1950 in Evansville to the late John V. and Mary E. (Cavins) Lewis. In spite of years of failing health and debilitating surgeries, she never relinquished hope or spirit and was an inspiration to others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and took pride in their character and accomplishments. Betty was a Christian and a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church, attending anytime she was able. Her loyalty to God and her family is a testament to her inner strength. She had a beauty about her the years could not erase and will be missed by many. Betty leaves to cherish many great memories, her beloved daughter, Linda Wire (Shad) who cared for her; beloved son, James Lovelace (Crystal); sisters, Linda Carrico, Sue (Jerry) Dorris; brothers, Vernon (Wanda) Lewis, Larry (Dana) Lewis, Danny (Cathy) Lewis; four grandchildren, Jacob Wire (Andrea), Tyler Lovelace (McKenzie), Cody Lovelace (Hailey), Kaylee ‘Katy’ Lovelace; great grandchildren, Londyn Wayman, Colton Lee Wire, and Weston James Lovelace; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Jimmy Lovelace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanne M. Lucas, Martha Dean Lewis, Mary Ann (Lewis) Gray, and her brother, John V. Lewis Jr. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 South Hebron Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the funeral home, with Reverend Stephen Russ officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
