Barbara (Hartman) Hanes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara (Hartman) Hanes, 85, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born September 4, 1936 in Evansville to the late Clemens and Agnes (Haller) Hartman. Barbara was a graduate of St. Anthony Catholic Grade School and Mater Dei High School in the class of 1954. She retired from Bristol Myers and later worked at The Lamp Shoppe in Henderson, KY. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Evansville and Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Owensboro. Barbara was a St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed BINGO and playing Clabber. She was also a member of the Germania Mannerchor and sang in the ladies’ choir. She is survived by her sister, Martha Kramer of Owensboro; she was the beloved aunt of 35 nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and companion, Juliet of 14 years. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted, Clem, Jerry, Tom, Bernie and Bill Hartman; sisters, Frances Alvey, Sr. Catherine Hartman, Charlotte Steckler and Mary Gabel. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Avenue where a Rosary service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at All Saints Parish-St. Anthony Church, 704 N. First Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Father Ted Tempel officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
