Anton "Tony" Charles Ungetheim

Anton “Tony” Charles Ungetheim, 77, of Boonville, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at his home. He was born February 7, 1945 in Vanderburgh County to the late Harris and June (Kissel) Ungetheim Rowley. Tony was a 1963 graduate of North High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving a tour in Vietnam as a military police K-9 handler and receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal. Tony was employed at Whirlpool before starting his own business, Ungetheim’s Tree Service. He loved reading, gardening, traveling and going on long walks and hikes to enjoy all of nature. Tony is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric A. and Cathy (Swartz) Ungetheim, son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Colonel Brandon H. and Kristin (McDonald) Ungetheim, and daughter, Gina (Chris) Kieffer; grandchildren, Eric Noah (Abriel) Ungetheim, Maggie (Dustin) Wehunt, Chloe, Nate and Chase Ungetheim, Logan and Ayla Kieffer; sister, Dana (Charlie) Calvin; “brother”, James Reynolds. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara E. (Hill) Ungetheim; son, Thomas J. Bitter; and sister, Darly Ripplemeier. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Scales Lake Park Old Shelter House with a picnic and visiting starting at 2:00 p.m. and a service at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S.
