Anne Schleper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Anne E. (Pampe) Schleper, 78, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born May 16, 1944 to the late Grace (Frohbieter) and Bernard Pampe. Anne graduated from North High School in 1962 and the University of Evansville in 1966 with a degree in Journalism. While at UE, she was a cheerleader and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She worked for 45 years at the Evansville Courier and Press as a reporter and associate features editor, and was also a substitute teacher for the EVSC. She was a lifetime member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and she absolutely loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports and music. She was a volunteer for many organizations including The American Heart Association, Good Samaritan Home, and feeding the homeless at Saint Lucas UCC. She is survived by her son, Michael, and his wife Laurie and their children, William and Paige of Niwot, CO; her son, David, and his wife Amanda and their children, Alyssa, Lauren, Drew, and Jack of Westfield, IN; brother, Robert Pampe, and his wife Pamela, and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles C. Schleper. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville 47714. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 33 W. Virginia St., Evansville IN, 47710, with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Laura Callender and Reverend Lynn Martin officiating.
