Jerry Ziemer CEO
Jerry has been serving the Evansville community for over 50 years at Ziemer Funeral Homes. He spent many years learning the funeral business from his father, Ted Ziemer. At the age of 35, his father passed away unexpectedly, leaving Jerry to continue the legacy of Ziemer Funeral Homes. He has been working alongside his son, Daniel, to ensure the highest quality of service continues for each family. Jerry and his wife, Patty, have 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Jerry has participated in many organizations in the community including Evansville Rotary, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Shriners, Youth First, Tri-State MS and Boys & Girls Club. He enjoys traveling and playing golf.
Daniel Ziemer President
Daniel is the third generation of Ziemers to serve the Evansville community with his family business. He started in maintenance, mowing lawns and transporting flowers when he was 15 years old. Daniel graduated from Memorial High School in 1988. He is a 1992 graduate of Ball State University with a degree in Entrepreneurship. Daniel received his funeral directors degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1993 and returned to Evansville to begin working for Ziemer Funeral Home as a funeral director with his father, Jerry. Daniel and his wife, Jennifer, are members of St. Benedict's Cathedral. Two of their children (Leo and Max) attend Memorial High School while the other three (Sam, Ben, and Sadie) attend St. Benedict's Cathedral School. Daniel is involved in Knights of Columbus, Hadi Shriners, Northside Kiwanis and various other community organizations. Daniel's quiet, confident demeanor is a comfort to the families who are overwhelmed emotionally. There is no question that he is treating every family as his family.
Jennifer Ziemer Operations Director
Jennifer is Daniel's wife and joined Ziemer Funeral Home in 2014. Jennifer is originally from upstate New York and moved to Evansville with her family in 1986 when her father transferred with Bristol Myers Squibb. She graduated from Memorial High School, where she met Daniel. Jennifer graduated from Ball State University in 1992 with a major in Sales and Marketing and a minor in Finance. Daniel and Jennifer have four sons (Leo, Max, Sam, and Ben) and a daughter named Sadie. Jennifer is an integral part of the day-to-day operations for Ziemer Funeral Homes, executing all marketing and accounting responsibilities. In addition, she assists families with the filing of insurance claims. Jennifer enjoys helping families organize necessary paperwork and acting as an advocate through the insurance claims process. She enjoys spending her time traveling with her family, playing golf, coaching, and watching her kids at their various sporting events.
Matt Kopshever Funeral Director
Matthew is a native of Pinckneyville, IL and became a resident of the greater Evansville area in 1999. Matthew has been with Ziemer Funeral Homes since 2000. He is a 1997 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he received a degree in Art Education and a 1999 Graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he received a Bachelors degree. When Matthew is not helping families in his community, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shanna (Voegel), and their lovely daughter Katherine Paige. He also enjoys hunting, camping, and hiking. Matthew’s sincerity, contagious smile, warm friendliness, and caring attitude are appreciated not only by the staff of Ziemer Funeral Home, but by everyone who meets him.
Angelo P. Ruehmkorff Director of Family Services & Advanced Planning
Angelo Ruehmkorff has been a member of the Ziemer Funeral Home team since 2003. Angelo is a native of Newburgh, Indiana and he graduated from Memorial High School in 1991. He graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 1995. Angelo has a lovely wife, Vanessa and two boys, Austin and Samuel. Angelo is a member of St. James Catholic Church. He enjoys spending time with his family, running and cycling. Angelo is the Director of Family Services at Ziemer Funeral Home. Many visitors to Ziemer Funeral Home know how special Angelo is, as part of the Ziemer team. Angelo is capable of leadership and yet possesses a friendly, outgoing spirit. His personality allows him to rise to the challenge of managing, while maintaining a gentle, peaceful ambiance —creating an atmosphere of love and kindness for those who he serves. "Every time I help a family with advanced planning, it gives me great satisfaction to know that the children will not have to make these arrangements on one of the worst days of their lives." Angelo believes that families should make these choices together rather than alone.
Scott Tenhumberg Funeral Director
Scott Tenhumberg is both an Indiana and Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer, and has been with us since 2003. He grew up in Evansville, graduating from F.J. Reitz High School and Vincennes University. He and his wife, Amy, are members of Christian Fellowship Church and have two children Nick and Derek Hugo. Scott feels that funeral service has been an amazing and fulfilling career and ministry.
Lynette Willett Funeral Director
Lynette is a native of Valley Center California, since moving to the Tri-State area at the age of 13 she considers Indiana home. She graduated from Paoli High School in 1997. Lynette received her Associates Degree in Funeral Science from Vincennes University in 2010. “I’m a passionate and driven person with a desire to help others, taking the time to listen to each family and help guide them, so that their service is tailor-made for their loved one”. Lynette enjoys spending time outdoors, horseback riding, hiking and fishing. Her biggest joy is spending time with her family, including her children Ricky and Sadie.
Norm Hunter Funeral Director and Advanced Planning Counselor
Norman, a native of Lawrenceburg Indiana, has been at "Home in Evansville" since 1958. He is a graduate of The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and completed a degree in business at Lockyear College. Norman enjoys being involved in his church, Bethel Temple Community Church, where he is an assistant teacher in the Bible Fellowship Hour. He and his wife, Jo Ann assist with the church's local activities when missionaries spend some time "back home". Norman says that his two foregin mission trips to Haiti are an experiences that he will never forget. He joined Ziemer Funeral Home in 1997. Norm says that "serving and ministering to those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one" is what he finds most satisfying about his job. He is an expert in creating a detail oriented and personalized service for each family. In his spare time, Norman enjoys working with his computer, camping and going to yard sales. Norman and his wife, Jo Ann, (Daly), have four daughters; Kathryn Perdue, Deborah Goldblatt, Nanci Yetter and Leanne Kelle. Every chance they get, they enjoy being with their eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
David Brown Advanced Planning Counselor
David has been a member of the Ziemer Funeral Home team since 2015. He is a native of Evansville and graduated from North High School and the University of Evansville. David and his wife, Bridget, have three children; Jacob, Isaac, and Carly. He is a member of St. Benedict Cathedral and enjoys spending time with his family. David's strong work ethic and organizational skills allow him to customize pre-planned funerals to meet customer needs.
